Inspired in 2014 by best-selling author Elizabeth Berg, The Ralston Writing Retreat is now annual writing retreat is set in a 100-year-old mansion in Mill Valley, Calif., just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. The retreat house is located in a spectactular natural venue surrounded by towering redwood trees, with hiking trails, brooks and so much more. Jane

When Elizabeth first put the idea out into the universe for this retreat, it was inspired by a belief that has served her well: “We find our best writing selves there” by giving ourselves the “gifts of time, contemplation, inquiry and peace.”

What others are saying

Connecting at writing conferences has  allowed me to network and learn from other writers. It has been one of the best ways to confirm my calling.

This will be my fourth year at the Ralston Writing Retreat. It gives me the space and time to focus on my work, to enjoy and be inspired in a glorious setting, and an opportunity to reset for the coming year.

A Walk in the park (thoughtful walkers)

I will be hosting a walk in one of the Orange County Regional parks every Wednesday morning from 9:00 - 10:45. Check in at the entrance ($3.00) to get a quote to take with you on your walk.  We will meet at a group shelter to discuss the quote for about a half hour. I encourage you to also bring a journal or your computer if you'd like to use some time to write.
